In the natural world, octopuses comprise the evolutionary order Octopoda. They have nine brains, three hearts, and leave danger behind in a cloud of ink. These highly intelligent animals play, use tools and employ their ingenuity to outwit opponents when the pressure is on.
In addition to a central brain, each arm of an octopus has one of its own that can operate independently or as part of a network. Since they have no hard external shell, octopuses must rely on their flexibility and resourcefulness. Their ability to problem-solve and to squeeze out of tight spots are more reasons why this animal inspires us.
Octopoda believes corporations have a responsibility to balance self-interests with social, economic and environmental good. Giving back is important. As part of our corporate stewardship policy, 10 per cent of our profits goes to organizations whose work helps to conserve aquatic ecosystems, such as oceans, lakes, rivers and wetlands.
